Dr. Phat Chompoomeng

We are excited to introduce Dr. Phat Chompoomeng (Teacher Pom), who will join our faculty team starting this September as a special lecturer. Teacher Pom will conduct the BISN Youth Leadership Programme, designed to prepare youth for future leadership roles. This program offers high school students the opportunity to learn and develop their skills to become effective leaders while also promoting teamwork and social responsibility as valuable community members. The BISN Youth Leadership Programme will begin in the first semester of the upcoming academic year, starting this September. Dr. Pom will utilize the BISN Choir as a platform for training, guiding high school students to practice choral singing twice a week for two hours each session. In the practical component, students will engage in choral rehearsals, fostering teamwork and enhancing their observational skills to ensure they sing in harmony, with proper timing and volume. This experience aims to help them understand both their own importance and the significance of others in a collaborative setting. Participating in choral singing will guide students toward healthy relationships, encouraging a culture of support rather than competition. It will teach them that it is not necessary to be the sole leader; every member of a choral group holds a unique role that contributes to the collective success. After thorough practice, the school, along with Dr. Pom, will organize performances for the choir both domestically and, budget permitting, in Asian countries where Dr. Pom and the school have established networks, including Japan, China, Malaysia, and Laos. The theoretical aspect of the program will feature discussions focused on preparing for future leadership in a world where the internet plays a significant role. This rapid change impacts societies globally, and adolescents today are facing challenges related to adapting to the current economic, political, and social contexts. At the same time, high school students possess the potential to drive positive development and change in their local communities. The BISN Youth Leadership Programme aims to empower students to realize their potential, encouraging them to become proactive thinkers and societal leaders capable of instigating change. It is designed to prepare students to enhance their problem-solving abilities and nurture their entrepreneurial spirit, allowing their ideas to translate into tangible successes. Upon completion of the Youth Leadership Programme, students will receive a certificate that can be included in their portfolios as part of their application for direct admission to the universities of their choice. The program will be conducted entirely in English, as Dr. Pom has spent several years studying and living in the United States, achieving fluency comparable to that of a native speaker. Dr. Pom is also skilled in playing the piano and saxophone. The top right photo features him with Mom Luang Panadda Diskul while she was the Minister of Education, and the bottom right photo captures him with the renowned Thai jazz saxophonist, Ko Mister Saxman.
